The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
northwestern Cleveland County in southeastern Arkansas...
Woodruff County in eastern Arkansas...
Prairie County in central Arkansas...
Lonoke County in central Arkansas...
Grant County in central Arkansas...
Dallas County in southwestern Arkansas...
northwestern Ouachita County in southwestern Arkansas...
northwestern Monroe County in eastern Arkansas...
Jefferson County in southeastern Arkansas...
southeastern Pulaski County in central Arkansas...

* until 1030 am CST

* at 431 am CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms with heavy rain over the area. Previous heavy rain
has already led to numerous Road closures and creeks/rivers
overflowing their banks. Travel may be dangerous in some areas.
Additional rainfall of one to two inches over the next several
hours will only worsen conditions in these areas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the

The Flood Warning continues for
the little Missouri River near Boughton.
* Until Sunday afternoon... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7:00 PM Thursday the stage was 21.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is nearing crest and will begin a slow fall
late tonight. Although the river will begin to fall, additional
rainfall is expected beyond the next 48 hours which could make
additional crests later this weekend. Continue monitoring the
latest forecasts for any updates.
* Impacts at 20.0 feet... pastures along the river begins to flood.
Water backing up Half Moon Slough and Boggy Creek in southwest Clark
County.
* Impacts at 22.0 feet... lower lying County roads in northern Nevada
County may be affected. Water approaching State Highway 53 near
Whelen Springs. Deer camps may be cut off by high water.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Ouachita River at Camden.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7:30 PM Thursday the stage was 26.7 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 37.0 feet by
Sunday morning. Additional rainfall is expected beyond the next
48 hours with higher crests possible. Continue to monitor the
latest forecasts for any updates.
* Impacts at 26.0 feet... low lying pastures and Timber land along
the river begins to flood. Sandy Beach Park at Camden starts to flood.
* Impacts at 28.0 feet... Sandy Beach Park and portions of the riverwalk
area off of Washington street are inundated.
* Impacts at 30.0 feet... State Highway 7 north of Camden floods, with
detours nearby. Portions of Sandy Beach Park will flood. Some County
roads north and east of Camden begin to flood.
* Impacts at 34.0 feet... overbank flooding closes many roads. Harmony
Grove community has flood problems at this stage. Many low lying roads
are flooding with access to some residential areas by boat only.
* Impacts at 36.0 feet... moderate flooding begins at this level. Access
roads to commercial, Industrial, and residential development are flooding.
Access to locations along the river downstream of Camden, by boat only.

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of central Arkansas, eastern Arkansas, north central
Arkansas, southeast Arkansas, southwest Arkansas, and western
Arkansas, including the following areas, in central Arkansas,
Faulkner, Garland, Grant, Lonoke, Perry, prairie, Pulaski,
Saline, and white. In eastern Arkansas, Jackson, Monroe, and
Woodruff. In north central Arkansas, Cleburne and
Independence. In southeast Arkansas, Arkansas, Bradley,
Cleveland, Desha, Drew, Jefferson, and Lincoln. In southwest
Arkansas, Calhoun, Clark, Dallas, Hot Spring, Ouachita, and
Pike. In western Arkansas, Montgomery and Polk.

* Through Saturday evening

* heavy to excessive rain fell across Arkansas the last three
days, with 3 to 6 inch amounts common and locally over 8
inches. Rain and isolated thunderstorms were ongoing this
morning from Texarkana to Little Rock and Jonesboro.
Precipitation will shift into mainly the northwest half of the
state tonight. Another round of thunderstorms will hit the
region on Saturday. The forecast calls from an additional 1 to 3
inches of rain, with locally over 4 inches across the north and
west.

* Given the recent heavy rainfall, the ground has become saturated
in much of the region. The runoff potential has increased,
making flash flooding and river flooding more likely. There have
already been numerous high water reports, including flooding of
roads and Road closures. If expected rainfall amounts are
realized, this could become a dangerous situation, with water
possibly getting into homes and businesses in places.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for for high water
problems based on the current forecast of heavy rain.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
