The Flood Warning continues for
the Mississippi River at Winfield ld25
* at 12:30 PM Monday the stage was 34.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast: the river is near crest and will begin falling tonight.
The river will fall below flood stage Tuesday morning.
* Impact: at 34.0 feet... this is the level of the levee protection
for Winfield.
* Impact: at 33.5 feet... near this height, the office building and
storage building of kimaterials, a sand and gravel company on
Highway 79 between Winfield and Old Monroe, begins flooding. Also,
the corps has not kept lock 25 open above this height.
* Impact: at 32.9 feet... Route N is closed from Highway 79 at
Winfield to where state maintenance ends.
* Impact: at 30.0 feet... the Golden Eagle Ferry will likely close
near this level. Lakeshore drive in northern St. Charles County
becomes impassable near this level.
* Impact: at 29.3 feet... the following roads in northern St. Charles
County close near this level: Peruque Creek Road near Highway 79,
dalbow Road near Highway 79, and Firma Road.
* Impact: at 29.2 feet... Lakeview Road in northeastern St. Charles
County is closed north of the Railroad tracks. Also, Highway c
between Highway b and silvers Road will be closed near this height.
* Impact: at 29.0 feet... Route 96 at Mozier Landing closes.
* Impact: at 28.5 feet... much of County highways b and c in eastern
St. Charles County are flooded.
* Impact: at 27.5 feet... at this stage, lock and dam 25 will
stockpile 200 tons of sand, 12,000 sandbags, and 10,000 square feet
of polyethyline plastic as a precaution.
* Impact: at 26.0 feet... flood stage. Highway b in eastern St.
Charles County floods near the Dardenne creek bridge.

* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast: the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
next Monday morning.
* Impact: at 33.0 feet... Clarksville City businesses from 1st street
to 3rd street begin to flood.
* Impact: at 32.8 feet... IL Route 96 from near Mozier to County Road
2 inundated and closed near this height.
* Impact: at 32.3 feet... Route N is closed between Route d and
Highway 79.
* Impact: at 32.0 feet... front street begins to flood.
* Impact: at 31.5 feet... Burlington northern sf Railroad tracks begin
to flood. Also, Highway 79 closes one mile south of Clarksville.
* Impact: at 31.0 feet... the Clarksville boat club, south of lock &
dam 24, begins to flood. First street begins flooding. In
Hamburg, Illinois, Water Street floods.
* Impact: at 30.0 feet... East Bank (illinois side) begins to flood.
Highway 79 one mile south of Clarksville begins to flood.
* Impact: at 29.0 feet... water enters the parking lot entrance at the
Clarksville Riverfront Park.
* Impact: at 27.2 feet... silo park just northwest of Clarksville off
Highway 79 begins flooding.
* Impact: at 25.5 feet... State Route p east of Elsberry begins
flooding just east of the levee.

the Illinois River at Hardin
* at 11:30 am Monday the stage was 36.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast: the river will continue rising to near 36.5 feet by
tomorrow early afternoon then begin falling.
* Impact: at 37.0 feet... the Nutwood levee is overtopped.
* Impact: at 36.5 feet... Lorton river house and other Hardin
businesses along Highway 100 begin flooding near this level.
* Impact: at 35.0 feet... flood fighting activities begin in Hillview.
* Impact: at 34.7 feet... Illinois River Road, or Highway 1, in south
Hardin begins flooding.
* Impact: at 34.3 feet... Illinois State Highway 100 north of
Kampsville begins flooding and is closed near this height.
* Impact: at 34.0 feet... Route 100 is flooded north of Hardin.
Jersey County grain company utility buildings begin flooding.
* Impact: at 33.8 feet... Route 96 is overtopped in Kampsville. The
Kampsville Fire Department begins flooding.
* Impact: at 33.0 feet... River Road in Bedford is overtopped. In
Kampsville, the intersection of Illinois 100 and Illinois 96 floods
near this height.
* Impact: at 32.7 feet... Kampsville inn begins flooding near this
level.
* Impact: at 32.6 feet... Kampsville American Legion, nearby
restrooms, and businesses along Broadway near Highway 96 begin
flooding near this height.
* Impact: at 32.5 feet... the parking lot of the barefoot restaurant
in Hardin begins flooding near this level.
* Impact: at 32.3 feet... the sales office at Hurley Dodge in Hardin
begins flooding.
* Impact: at 32.2 feet... cottages along South Park street in south
Hardin begin flooding near this level.
* Impact: at 32.0 feet... Water Street in Hardin begins flooding near
John f. Kennedy street.
* Impact: at 31.8 feet... the Brussels Ferry service is interrupted.

* Impact: at 25.0 feet... flood stage. Lowland flooding of
unprotected agricultural land begins.
* Impact: at 18.2 feet... at and below this height, barge traffic will
need to consider lowering tonnage to avoid grounding.

... St. Peters tornado given a preliminary rating of EF-2... .

National Weather Service storm survey team has determined that
the maximum damage produced by yesterday evenings tornado on the
north side of St. Peters was EF2... with estimated winds of around
120 mph. This damage was to house near the intersection of
silvers Road and Highway c... about 2 miles north of mid rivers
mall.

It appears that the maximum width was about 350 yards. The survey
team is still trying to determine the path length, but flooding in
the area is hindering their efforts.

The survey team will be heading up to the Eolia area shortly.
