The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
Montgomery County in southeast Kansas...

* until 115 PM CDT Tuesday

* at 116 am CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall across the warned area.

Doppler radar estimated between 1 to 4 inches of rain have fallen
across the area... with additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2
inches possible. Coffeyville Municipal Airport reported over 2
inches of rain has fallen since 7 PM Monday evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of urban
areas... highways and underpasses. Additionally... rural country roads
and farmlands along the banks of creeks... streams and other low lying
areas are subject to flooding.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

areas... Allen... Chautauqua... Elk... Labette... Montgomery...
Neosho... Wilson and Woodson

* through Tuesday morning.

* Scattered to numerous thunderstorms will continue overnight
across southeast Kansas. Heavy rain will be likely with the
more intense storms which will likely cause flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Remember to turn around... don't drown.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

* at 125 am CDT... National Weather Service meteorologists were
tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from
Cherryvale to Dearing to Tyro... moving east at 45 mph.

* Locations impacted include...
Coffeyville... Mound Valley... Altamont... Edna... Coffeyville Airport
and Angola.

Dime size hail... and winds to 50 mph are possible with these storms.

Be prepared to take shelter in the event the storms intensify and
become severe, or a warning is issued by the National Weather
Service. These storms may produce ponding of water on roadways.
Listen for later statements or possible flooding warnings... should
the risk for minor low-land flooding become more imminent.

tracking a strong thunderstorm near Peru... or 7 miles southeast of
Sedan... moving east at 25 mph.

* Locations impacted include...
Hale... Havana... Caney... Tyro and Niotaze.

Penny to nickel size hail is possible with this storm.

Be prepared to take shelter in the event the storm intensifies and
becomes severe, or a warning is issued by the National Weather
Service. This storm may produce ponding of water on roadways. Listen
