The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
Worcester County in southeastern Maryland...
eastern Somerset County in southeastern Maryland...
southeastern Wicomico County in southeastern Maryland...
northern Accomack County in southeastern Virginia...

* until 900 PM EDT Friday

* at 258 PM EDT... emergency management officials reported flooding
along the Pocomoke river in Snow Hill. Major flooding is
occurring in Snow Hill.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Pocomoke City... Snow Hill... Newark... west Pocomoke... Pittsville...
Willards... Shelltown... Beaver Dam... Mount Wesley... Rehobeth...
Whitesburg... Whaleyville... Cokesbury... Whiton... Powellville...
Longridge... goodwill and Eden.

Flood waters are moving down the Pocomoke river from Willards to
Snow Hill and eventually Pocomoke City. The Pocomoke river at
Willards should crest later this afternoon or early evening, with
the floodwater gradually pushing down the river tonight into
Saturday. Additional flooding is occurring along the nassawango
creek.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

* Flood Warning for small streams in...
Worcester County in southeastern Maryland...

* until 500 PM EDT Friday

* at 1055 am EDT... emergency management officials reported flooding
in Worcester County due to recent heavy rainfall of up to 6 to 12
inches.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Pocomoke City... Berlin... Snow Hill... Cape Isle of Wight... Newark...
Ocean Pines... west Pocomoke... Mount Wesley... Bishop...
Whaleyville... Bishopville... Boxiron... Public Landing...
Girdletree... Whiton... Ironshire... Longridge... goodwill... Ocean City
municipality and Beaver Dam.

Flood waters are moving into and down the Pocomoke river from its
tributaries toward Snow Hill. As of 10 am... the Pocomoke river stage
near Willards was 14.07 feet and rising. This floodwater will
gradually move downstream through the afternoon. Additionally, the
nassawango creek northwest of Snow Hill was still rising as of 10 am.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

... Coastal Flood Advisory now in effect until 11 am EDT Saturday...

* location: portions of Worcester County Maryland adjacent to tidal rivers
            and Assawoman Bay.

* Timing: within a few hours either side of high tide through Saturday
          morning.

* Impacts: inundation of water in and near low-lying coastal areas could
           lead to Road closures and flooding of property.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds... wave action and / or
tides will combine to create flooding of low areas along the shore... and near
tidal rivers and creeks. Be prepared for the possibility of Road closures and
minor flooding of properties. If travel is necessary... do not attempt to drive
through water of unknown depth.
