Flood Warning, Areal Flood Warning

The Flood Warning continues for
the Washita river near Carnegie.

* Until Wednesday morning... or until the warning is cancelled.

* At 3:00 am Monday the stage was 29.6 feet.

* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.

* Forecast... the Washita river will continue rising and crest near
30.5 feet early Monday afternoon. The Washita river will fall below
flood stage early Wednesday morning.

* Impact... at 31.0 feet... look for near-total flood plain coverage
along the Washita River Valley in eastern Washita and western Caddo
counties. Some farm levees are overtopped several hours before the
time of crest near Carnegie. About six thousand acres of farm
lands are covered by flood depths to about 6 feet... and will be
the highest water levels since flood control began at Foss dam.
Local highways are blocked... isolating rural communities and many
farmsteads.

the Washita river near Clinton.

* Until late tonight... or until the warning is cancelled.

* At 3:30 am Monday the stage was 24.0 feet.

* Moderate flooding is occurring.

* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.

* Forecast... the Washita river has crested and will continue to fall.
The Washita river will fall below flood stage Monday evening.

... New record monthly rainfall set at Oklahoma City...

The official measured rainfall on Saturday at Will Rogers World
Airport in Oklahoma City was 3.73 inches. This brings the monthly
total for may to 18.19 inches. This breaks the may record of
14.52 inches, set in 2013. The 18.19 inches total also breaks
the record for any month on record. That record was 14.66 inches,
set in June 1989. The official monthly will be updated at
the end of the month.


Precipitation records for Oklahoma City date back to 1890.
