The National Weather Service in Austin San Antonio has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Lee County in south central Texas...

* until 745 PM CDT

* at 446 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to four inches of rain has
already fallen east of Highway 77 in Lee County with up to two
inches west of Highway 77 in Lee County. Flash flooding is
expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Giddings... Lexington... Fedor... Dime Box... Tanglewood... Northrup... Loebau...
Lincoln... Old Dime Box... Leo... Serbin and Manheim.

Additional rainfall amounts of up to two inches in an hour are
possible in the warned area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.

The National Weather Service in Austin San Antonio has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
Lee County in south central Texas...

* until 700 PM CDT

* at 355 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in
the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen
over the far eastern parts of Lee County with up to one inch over
central Lee County.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Giddings... Lexington... Dime Box... Tanglewood... Loebau... Lincoln... Old
Dime Box and Leo.

Additional rainfall of up to two inches is expected over the area.
This additional rain will cause minor flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated... or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of south central Texas...
including the following areas... Bastrop... Bexar... blanco...
Burnet... Caldwell... Comal... De Witt... Fayette... Gonzales...
Guadalupe... Hays... Karnes... Kendall... Lavaca... Lee... Travis...
Williamson and Wilson.

* Through late tonight

* rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches with isolated amounts up to 6
inches

* soils are saturated from recent rains and runoff will be more
rapid into area rivers... creeks... streams... and low lying areas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

southeastern Williamson and Lee counties until 600 PM CDT...

At 440 PM CDT... Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms near
across Lee County and parts of Williamson and Bastrop
counties... moving northeast at 30 mph.

Very heavy rainfall resulting in possible flash flooding... frequent
cloud to ground lightning... small hail and winds in excess of 30 mph
will be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Elgin... Giddings... Lexington... Fedor... Circle d-kc estates... Circle d-kc
estate... Dime Box... Paige... Tanglewood... Camp swift... Northrup... McDade...
Old Dime Box... Leo... Manheim... blue... knobb Springs... Loebau... Lincoln and
Serbin.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm... and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
