The National Weather Service in Austin San Antonio has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Fayette County in south central Texas...

* until 845 PM CDT

* at 548 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to one and one half inches of
rain has already fallen. In addition... many locations are
saturated due to recent significant rainfall. Flash flooding is
expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
La Grange... Schulenburg... Flatonia... Fayetteville... Round Top...
Muldoon... cistern... Carmine and Willow Springs.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in
the warned area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... country roads... farmland... and other low lying
spots.

the National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Colorado River above La Grange.
* From Thursday afternoon to Saturday afternoon... or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 2:25 PM Tuesday the stage was 13.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Thursday early afternoon and continue to
rise to near 26.8 feet by early Friday morning.The river will fall below flood
stage by Saturday morning.
* Impact... at 26.0 feet... minor lowland flooding covers low areas of the flood
plain with no significant damage. Lowest roads and bridges are flooded..

* until 815 PM CDT

* at 510 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
Up to one and one half inches of rain has already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Elgin... Bastrop... Giddings... La Grange... Smithville... Schulenburg...
Flatonia... Lexington... Fayetteville... Round Top... Fedor... Rosanky...
Muldoon... Circle d-kc estate... wyldwood... Tanglewood and cistern.

Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected over the area. This
additional rain will cause minor flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... country roads... farmland... and other low lying
spots.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of south central Texas...
including the following areas... Atascosa... Bandera... Bastrop...
   Bexar... blanco... Burnet... Caldwell... Comal... De Witt...
Dimmit... Edwards... Fayette... frio... Gillespie... Gonzales...
Guadalupe... Hays... Karnes... Kendall... Kerr... Kinney... Lavaca...
   Lee... Llano... Maverick... Medina... real... Travis... Uvalde...
Val Verde... Williamson... Wilson and Zavala.

* Through Thursday morning

* widespread rainfall totals of 3 to 6 inches with some locations
reaching as high as 10 inches. Also... very saturated soils will
further enhance the possibility for flash flooding and increase
the likelihood of rapid flooding.

* Rivers and creeks are swollen and any additional rainfall will
worsen the conditions. Soils are extremely saturated and any
additional rains will likely result in rapid run off and
accumulation of flood waters.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
