The National Weather Service in Charleston West Virginia has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
southern Roane County in central West Virginia...
southeastern Calhoun County in north central West Virginia...
Clay County in north central West Virginia...
Braxton County in north central West Virginia...
northeastern Kanawha County in central West Virginia...

* until 500 PM EDT

* at 204 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated several small concentrated
downpours associated with thunderstorms across the warned area. Up
to one inch of rain has already fallen. Repetitive downpours may
hit the same small stream. Flash flooding is expected to begin
shortly.

Local additional rainfall amounts 1 to 1.5 inches are possible in
the warned area through 4 PM. Small streams and runs could rise
rapidly. This warning is not for the rivers.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate Route.
